VISIT A MUSEUM
Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Truly a world-class collection of history covering everything from country’s earliest roots to today’s hitmakers. If you’re a serious fan, you could easily spend three hours browsing exhibits. For most people, 1 1/2-2 hours will be enough. TIP: Often overlooked are the live music programs offered in the Hall of Fame’s Ford Theater and CMA Theater.
Johnny Cash Museum If you are deep into Cash fandom, you’ll love this compact museum; if you only have a passing interest, I’d suggest you spend your time elsewhere. Probably give it an hour if interested. Next door is a restaurant/bar serving up southern food and live music.
Patsy Cline Museum One of the early female icons in country music is remembered in this museum. Tough lady, silky voice.
Third Man Records It’s not exactly a museum but it does have a fascinating collection of stuff that rocker Jack White found interesting. It’s also a record store, sometimes a live music venue, and a place you can tour Fridays only.

The Listening Room One of the city’s most popular venues to hear songwriters performing their own songs. Every Monday night, it hosts “Song Suffragettes” showcasing female songwriters.
3rd & Lindsley A great-sounding room that brings to the stage a wide variety of talent: singer/songwriters, top-notch tribute bands, roots rockers, and groovin’ nostalgia. It hosts “Finally Friday,” a free live Americana radio show at noon on Fridays featuring two or three artists. Most Mondays you’ll find the legendary Texas swing band “The Time Jumpers” holding court. Highly recommended.
