Germantown. How would you like to build your own custom electric guitar or bass? These craftsmen will guide you through the process in a full-day or half-day workshop. (Pictured above.)
SoBro. At the conclusion of your tour of this time-honored art form, you’ll have the opportunity make your own poster using the same letterpress process that has made concert posters for generations. Frequently Hatch also hosts “block parties” for registrants to take a class in print-making.
East Nashville. A tad more rustic than other make-your-own-art places, you’ll create your own custom sign choosing from tons of designs. Contact them to discuss BYOB options.
SoBro. It’s a tad pricey and you won’t become a master potter in one session but participants seem to dig this experience. Among their offerings are a two-hour session for $75 and a date night special ($180) which include dinner and a beverage for two.
Germantown. Join a workshop or schedule a private pottery party. Get a little messy but clean-up is a breeze. And you’ll have a lovely self-made souvenir.
East Nashville. In a two-hour pottery workshop, your instructor will guide you and your friends through the creation of a piece that will be shipped to you after it’s been fired.
Wedgewood/Houston. Always been mesmerized by this art and you can try your hand, err, lungs, at shaping a piece. The tutorial runs 20 minutes; cost is $75 per participant with private classes available for groups. The facility triples as a gallery, coffeehouse, and bar.
Joelton. It’s actually about a half-hour’s drive from Nashville but participants say it’s worth it. Sessions range from 1-2 hours and you’ll walk away with your own handmade souvenir of the experience. Cost: $96-150.
Donelson. Want to take home a custom-painted LP from Music City? That’s their jam. You apply paint to a record as it spins to create a groovy design. Sessions start at $70/person.
Sylvan Park/West Nashville. They provide everything to create your work of art in a two- or three-hour session. Join an existing session or, if you’ve got a larger group, host a private party.
North of Downtown. A little diversity here:ehoose a painting class or a cooking class. Either are available optional food and drink add-ons.
A national company with local affiliates, they’ll coordinate with you to bring the paint party to your place or suggest a public rental space.
Downtown. Forget Maybelline because you can make your own lipstick or butter balm. Mix your shade, determine your finish, add a flavor, name and engrave your tube.
The Gulch. At this location, you follow a how-to flip book to create your own candle. If that make you nervous, you can opt for the instructor-led workshop at their Berry Hill location, a few miles south of downtown. Each pouring takes about 45 minutes. Then either come back in three hours or have your creation shipped to you.
