Things to Do
All Sorts of Activities
Whether you like to relax in natural beauty or shop till you drop, Nashville has something to offer.
Free ideas? Sure! Take in one of our many outdoor festivals, visit the Tennessee State Museum, hike through one of our parks, tour the State Capitol, bring the kids to a wonderful puppet show at the Downtown Library, listen to live music all over the place.
Like to be outside? Explore a walking tour through downtown. Take a hike through Beaman Park or Warner Park. Go for high adventure with a ropes course. Tee up for a round of golf.
Love the water? Kayak the Cumberland River, canoe the Harpeth, hit one of our public beaches, or rent a pontoon on Percy Priest Lake. Looking for something more chlorinated? Try our low-cost, spend the day at Nashville Shores or, if you’re staying at Opryland Hotel, discover the indoor/outdoor fun of SoundWaves.
Traveling with kids? Engage them at Adventure Science Center. Check the schedule for a puppet show from our nationally acclaimed company or the equally brilliant Nashville Children’s Theatre. Burn off some energy at one of the public splash parks. Find kid-friendly food-fun at restaurants or let them make their own candy bar. You don’t have to be a kid to thoroughly enjoy the Nashville Zoo.
Looking for things to do on a rainy day? Take in one of our museums catering to music-, history- or art-lovers. Visit the Civil Rights Room at the downtown library. Hop aboard a bus tour; some are learning experiences and others are just for laughs.
