Nashville Calendar of Events: Adding a Little Extra Excitement

Of course, we’re known for its vibrant live music scene with performances every day of the year. But run through this Nashville events calendar and you’ll see we embrace all sorts of festivities. With so much happening in Nashville beyond its legendary music scene, you’ll find something that captures your interest.

Monthly Art Crawls

They’re a great way to explore a little part of the city. Typical 8-15 galleries (or artists) participate. All crawls are conveniently near a number of neighborhood restaurants and bars. I haven’t listed these individually in the events calendar–I’ll let you do the math to discover if this an arts crawl weekend.

First Saturday

Want to escape the current jukebox tunes of Lower Broadway and take a deep dive into a couple of country legends? These folks will offer a respectful tribute and a night of goodnatured fun. Fun fact: Train-lover Johnny purchased the tiny Amqui train station next door and moved it to his House of Cash office in Hendersonville. Now it’s back at its original location.

Symphony Center

No Small Endeavor variety show

This show always attracts top talent for an eclectic evening of songs and stories. (Kinda of an uptown Prairie Home Companion.) This time around, the guests are Allison Russell, Ruby Amanfu, and Sharon McMahon with series host Lee C. Camp. And if you’ve not heard of Dwan Hill and The Choir Room, you’re in for a soulful interactive gospel treat.

November 26

Harken Hall

Music City Roots Reunion

Before Americana had bloomed so beautifully, Music City Roots paid homage to tradition with an array of well-respected musicians with a weekly multi-artist showcase. It moved around through the years and is staging a reunion with a stellar line-up including Vince Gill, Darrell Scott, the McCrary Sisters, Rodney Crowell, and others. Co-hosted by Ranger Doug of Riders in the Sky and Barclay Randall.

November 27

Belle Meade

Boulevard Bolt

Celebrating its 32nd year, this 5-mile run (or walk) is a great way to get a look at wonderful older homes in Nashville’s premier old-money neighborhood. A joint effort of several houses of faith, proceeds benefit a number of non-profits.

December 12 and 13

Bridgestone Arena

Nate Bargatze: Big Dumb Eyes tour

Joined by the Circle Band and who-knows-what-surprise guests, it’ll be a rare opportunity to see this California country-rock legend.

It’s such a popular concert that they’ve added a night to their annual New Years Eve show. FYI, the show on the 31st will sell out fast.

The series is NOT returning but you can meet up with Deacon and his friends for this encore of show favorites. The cast is Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Jonathan Jackson, and Sam Palladio.

Described as a Holy Week Celebration, CeCe brings her decades-long catalog of glorious music to the stage. (The March 30 concert sold out in days.)
