First Saturday Art Crawl
Downtown Crawl. Based on the Avenue of the Arts (that’s 5th Avenue N. between Church Street and Union Street, more than 20 galleries participate in this monthly event. You can expect free snacks and live music as you roam about.
Wedgewood-Houston Crawl. Although it’s a bit smaller (approximately 12 galleries) and more decentralized, nice weather makes for a fun walkabout. Expect to be welcomed with refreshments as you tour the collections. Diskin Cider and Jackalope Brewery are right in the neighborhood.
Actually the music and family activities start on July 3 downtown. Then…touted as the largest fireworks displayed in the U.S., Nashville also begins the evening with a bang. This year’s concert line-up features the Nashville Symphony, Old Dominion, Cassadee Pope, Levi Hummon and Gramps Morgan. It’s truly a night Nashville shines and the festivities are FREE.
Christian music festival held in Bon Aqua, TN with acts including Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, Skillet, Sidewalk Prophets, Mac Powell, Cain and others.
Music City Grand Prix
Grand Prix racing roars back into Nashville with one of the most unique courses on the circuit including passes over the Cumberland River. Tim McGraw kicks off the event with a headlining concert.
Diverse musical talents come together for this annual event with this year’s roster boasting Asleep at the Wheel, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Jerry Douglas Band, James McMurtry, Miko Marks and Rissi Palmer, among others.
Even if you don’t like baseball, a trip to First Horizon Park in Germantown can be a blast. They keep things lively, there’s a good selection of food from local restaurants and the people-watching is free. Visit the website for game times and to discover special promotions in play.
